Summary

Description of what each pair in the Cat‑5e/6 is used for in an IS Series local system.

Solution

Each pair in the Cat‑5e/6 cable carries a different signal. This is the TIA/EIA 568B wiring standard:
  • Pair 1, pins 4,5 (Blue/Blu-Wht): Audio signal
  • Pair 2, pins 1,2 (Org-Wht/Org): Data signal
  • Pair 3, pins 3,6 (Grn-Wht/Grn): Video signal
  • Pair 4, pins 7,8 (Brn-Wht/Brn): Power (Pin 7 = negative, Pin 8 = positive)

Summary

IS-IP Series station bandwidth requirements.

Solution

Below is a chart that shows bandwidth used based on the frame rate and quality settings for IS-IP Series. The image sizes in this chart are approximate. The bandwidth will change based on the image size. The formula is: (Frame Rate x Image size) x 8kbps = Bandwidth The image size is the variable that cannot be "set". It all depends on the environment when that image is captured (how much movement).     8Mbps is the maximum bandwidth. Moving IS-SOFT From One PC to Another

Summary

Steps on how to move IS-SOFT from one PC to another.

Solution

Follow the steps listed below:

  1. If you can open the software on the old PC, you will want to copy over certain information before you set up the second PC.
  2. If the first PC is completely out of commission, you will need the CD key from the case.
  3. Open the software on the first PC and click the tool menu (the wrench and screwdriver icon). Then click the Network tab:
  4.  Also copy the license key if you no longer have the paper copy
  5. This shows the PC was programmed for a host at IP address https://192.0.0.8 (this is an example, yours will be different). Open a web browser and navigate to this IP address (don’t forget the “https://”, adding the “s” for a secured connection).
  6. Accept the security message and continue to the website.
  7. Enter the username “aiphone” and password “aiphone” (all lower case). If this doesn’t work, find out what the administrator account was changed to. If you can’t find this, you will need to reset the host and reprogram the entire system.
  8. Go to IP unit registration and look for the MAC address you saw in the Network tab for the first PC.
  9. Now install and open the software on the new or replacement PC and click the tool menu (the wrench and screwdriver icon). Then click the Network tab.
  10. In the replacement PC, tell it how to find the HOST IP address (the device you are logged into with your web browser) and password “aiphone” and enter the License Key. Also, write down the NEW PC’s MAC address.
  11. In the web browser for the host, go to IP unit registration change the MAC address for the old PC and replace it with the new PC’s MAC address. (in this picture, change line 3).
  12. Temporarily store and update the system
